Thieves strike locked house at Deendayal Nagar; decamp with booty worth Rs 3.18 lakh

Nagpur: The anti-social elements are taking advantage of the vacant houses owing to the festive travelling. The situation has served soft targets to the thieves who are having their digging out at these houses, particularly, isolated ones.  In similar such incidents some unidentified thieves broke into a house at Deendayal Nagar under Pratap Nagar police station and decamped with booty worth Rs 3.18 lakh on Friday.

Sources said Radheshyam Rajwanshi Tiwari (51), a resident of Magh Complex, Deendayal Nagar, locked his house and went to Dharampeth and Sitabuldi market with his family members on Friday. Meanwhile, some unidentified thieves barged into the house by breaking open the main door of the house and stole away gold jewellery and Rs 60,000 cash collectively worth Rs 3.18 lakh from an almirah. He discovered the theft when he came back in the evening.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Radheshyam, Pratap Nagar police have registered an offence under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC against unidentified thieves.
