Raipur: After the recent heartbreaking incident in Gorakhpur where 63 children lost their lives, another tragedy claiming the lives of three newborns, including a five day old infant, has been reported in B.R. Ambedkar Hospital, Raipur.
The children, allegedly, died due to stoppage of oxygen supply after the ward boy, drunk on duty, passed out.
However, authorities claimed that there was no shortage of oxygen supply and attributed the deaths to illness. As is being claimed by Director of Health Services, R Prasanna, when the oxygen pressure dropped, on duty doctors raised an alarm and immediately remedied the situation.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has ordered an investigation.
