  1. Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, Qualifier 1, IPL 2013

Michael Hussey started the game at 647 runs in 16 games behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Chris Gayle, who ended his tournament with 708 runs in 16 games. The former Chennai Super Kings opener scored an unbeaten 86 off just 58 balls laced with 10 boundaries and two maximums as CSK won by 48 runs. Meanwhile, he surpassed Gayle to hold the IPL Orange Cap with 733 runs in 17 games.

Yuzvendra Chahal braced to play the final game of the season for RR sharing the top spot in IPL Purple Cap list with RCB’s Wanindu Hasaranga for the coveted prize. Hasaranga ended his tournament with 26 wickets in 16 games. Chahal required just one wicket to overtake him and he picked Hardik Pandya’s wicket to achieve the rare feat in the IPL with 27 wickets in 17 games. He did so at an average of 19.51 and an economy rate of 7.75.

Though CSK went on to lift the cup in the final, there was another competition brimming within the CSK camp. CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis commenced their batting in the final with 603 and 547 runs, respectively in 15 games. Gaikwad ended his run tally with 635 runs scoring 32 in the final. Playing the final ball of the CSK innings, Du Plessis needed just three more runs to surpass Gaikwad and he holed out to long on aiming for big. He ended with 633 runs and Gaikwad picked up the Orange Cap.
