This will be probably the first time the civic chief manages to implement a budget on April 1. Radhakrishnan in the capacity of Municipal Commissioner will prepare the budget and approve it in the capacity of Administrator, as he will have the powers of the Standing Committee as well as the General Body. The new Standing Committee Chairperson will not be able to prepare and present a budget.

According to sources, Radhakrishnan said that since the Corporators will not be available to hear grievances of the public, therefore, he plans to make officials of all ten zones more easily accessible to the people. Process of works and resolving complaints will become fast as everything will come directly to him. Some major development projects facing hurdles will be cleared as soon as possible. Proper utilization of abandoned NMC land for development of the city and services to the people will be done, he said.

Sources from NMC said a list of a large number of heads of departments, engineers etc has been prepared as per recommendations of a committee headed by Additional Municipal Commissioner Deepak Kumar Meena for transfers. Process of verification and disbursement of payments to contractors will be made stricter. Chances of administration exposing more scams like Bogus Contracts Scam cannot be ruled out, sources said.
