Tractor-trolley knocks dead teenage boy on Jaitala Road

Nagpur: In a heart-wrenching incident on Monday, a 17-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a recklessly-driven tractor-trolley near Godawari Bus Stop at Narkesari Layout on Jaitala Road in the jurisdiction of Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station. The authorities swiftly took the tractor driver into custody.

The victim, identified as Badal Duryodhan Rahangdale, a resident of Plot No. 103, Bagani Layout, Ahilya Nagar, Jaitala Road, was on his way to a nearby shop around 7 pm when the incident occurred. As he rode his bicycle near Godawari Bus Stop on Jaitala Road, a speeding tractor with registration MH-31/EE-0132, towing a trolley bearing registration MH-31/EN1093, collided with Badal’s bicycle. The impact caused him to fall, resulting in serious injuries.

Badal was promptly rushed to Wockhardt Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Following a complaint lodged by Himalaya Shyamlalji Katre, the 27-year-old uncle of the deceased, the police registered a case under Sections 279 and 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read in conjunction with Sections 134(A)(B) and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against Aakash Ramkrishna Ghangde, the tractor driver residing in Khamla. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
