Traffic Advisory for Nagpur Due to Bharat Bandh on August 21

Nagpur: In light of the Bharat Bandh called on August 21, 2024, by various parties and organizations in protest against the categorization of SC/ST reservations, several rallies will be held across Nagpur city. The Nagpur Police Department has issued a traffic advisory to inform the public about potential disruptions and alternative routes. The following are the key rally routes planned for the day:

1. Rally from Bhim Chowk, Indora: The rally will start at Bhim Chowk, Indora, and proceed through Barakhuli, Indora Maidan, Indora Chowk, Kamal Chowk, Aawle Babu Chowk, 10 Number Bridge, Kadbi Chowk, and Gaddigodam Chowk, ending at LIC Chowk and finally at Samvidhan Chowk.

2. Rally from Jattarodi Chowk: This rally will commence from Jattarodi Chowk, moving through Medical Chowk, Krida Chowk, Aawari Chowk, Ashok Chowk, Baidhnath Chowk, and return to Medical Chowk for conclusion.

3. Rallies from Manewada Chowk and Shatabdi Nagar Chowk: These rallies will proceed via Ajni Railway Bridge, through Kriplani Chowk, Rahate Colony Chowk, Lokmat Chowk, Variety Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, concluding at Samvidhan Chowk.

4. Rally from Ajni Area and Trisharan Chowk: Starting from Ajni Area and Trisharan Chowk, this rally will pass through Medical Chowk, Baidhnath Chowk, Sardar Patel Chowk, Cotton Market Chowk, Manas Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, ending at Samvidhan Chowk.

5. Rally from Annabhau Sathe Chowk: This rally will move through Kriplani Chowk, Rahate Colony Chowk, Lokmat Chowk, Variety Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, ending at Samvidhan Chowk.

The police department has indicated that there might be additional rallies from other parts of the city, which could further impact traffic. Officers and traffic personnel will be stationed at key intersections along these routes to manage traffic flow and minimize disruptions. Traffic diversions will be implemented as necessary.

Citizens are advised to avoid these areas and opt for alternative routes to minimize inconvenience. The police department requests the cooperation of all citizens in ensuring smooth traffic movement and avoiding unnecessary congestion.
