Nagpur News: A Traffic Branch Assistant Police Inspector (API) was seriously injured when he was hit by a recklessly driven motorcyclist at Shivangaon Turning on Wardha Road.
According to police, the API Madan Satyanarayan Pande (55), attached to Traffic Branch (South), was on duty at the Shivangaon Turning on Wardha Road. At the same, a 19-year old youth, Hemraj Sukhdas Bawne, resident of Maa Ambe Nagar, Pardi, riding a Hero Passion motorcycle (MH-49/M-0269), dashed his motorcycle to API Madan Satyanarayan Pande from behind. The seriously injured API was rushed to the Orange City Hospital. The Sonegaon PSI Suryatal booked Hemraj under sections 279, 337 of the IPC and Sub-Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act and probing the matter further. However, whether Hemraj was arrested by the police could not be ascertained as the press release did not mention his arrest.
