Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued orders to close traffic on several roads for cement concrete road construction. The affected roads are:
Manish Nagar Railway Crossing to Pavanhumi Main Road and Mahadev Temple Road
Humpyard Road to Lokmat Square (Balraj Marg)
Anand Talkies to Dhantoli Police Station (up to the bridge)
These roads will remain closed to traffic until October 31, as per the directive from NMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary.
According to the order, the NMC proposes to construct a cement concrete road from Manish Nagar Railway Crossing to Pavanhumi Main Road and Mahadev Temple Road. Traffic on these roads will be completely prohibited, from Mr. Garg’s house to Mr. Sudam’s house and from the field to Mr. Ghule’s house.
Additionally, the construction on Humpyard Road to Lokmat Square (Balraj Marg) involves creating a cement concrete road from Vijay Anand Society to Dinanath School. Traffic will be restricted on this route as well.
For the Anand Talkies to Dhantoli Police Station route, construction will commence on the left side of the road, with traffic diverted to the right side. Once the left side is completed, construction will begin on the right side, with traffic redirected accordingly.
Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary’s order includes the following directives:
- Erect notice boards with the start and completion dates of the construction at each site.
- Contractors must display their address and contact number on the board.
- Assign traffic security personnel or volunteers near barricades and diversion points.
- Ensure the material excavated during construction does not obstruct traffic.
- Immediately fill and cement or asphalt any potholes created during the process.
- Provide clear alternative route information on visible boards.
- Install LED diversion boards and LED strings on barricades for night visibility.
- Contractors are responsible for any incidents during construction.
- Adhere to traffic rules and police instructions.
- Ensure residents and offices on these roads have practical access during the construction period.
