Tragic Accident on Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Highway: Seven Dead, Over Ten Injured

Nagpur/Jalna: A severe accident occurred on the Samruddhi Highway in Maharashtra’s Jalna district, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and leaving more than ten passengers critically injured. The injured have been taken to the hospital, and police are investigating the incident.

The accident happened around 11 PM near Kadavanchi village at channel number 371 in the Mumbai Corridor area. A Maruti Ertiga, traveling from Nagpur to Mumbai, collided with a Swift Dzire that was coming from the wrong direction. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of seven people, while approximately ten others sustained injuries.

Upon receiving news of the accident, the Samruddhi Highway Police and the Jalna Taluka Police arrived at the scene, using cranes to move the vehicles off the road. The injured were admitted to the government hospital in Jalna.

Dr. Umesh Jadhav from the Jalna Government Hospital reported that four severely injured individuals were initially brought in by ambulance, with one being transferred to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar due to critical injuries. Fifteen minutes later, three more injured individuals arrived, two of whom were also transferred to the government hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

One injured person remains in the hospital’s casualty ward with a fractured arm. Six additional patients are being transported to the Jalna hospital. The ambulance personnel confirmed the death of seven passengers at the scene.
