Several Up and Down trains in the North and South directions have been running very late as a bridge between and Nagpur and Itarsi Sections of Central Railway was swept away partially due to heavy rains in the area on Friday (August 23). Apart from the bridge over Machna River, gravels (Gitti) under the rail track up to 30 meters, 15 sleepers and an OHE pole have been completely washed away by the flooded water of the river. Only one track is safe and the Up and Down trains are being run on the track. The Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur Division,  Brujesh Dixit and other top officials have reached the spot and the restoration work is going on warfooting. More than 500 labourers have been pressed into the restoration operation, a Central Railway press release said.
