Nagpur: Ajni Police arrested a worker of a travel agency — Rasika Travels — at Chandramani Nagar and recovered two stolen cars, two motorcycleandascooterettecollectively worth Rs 6.55 lakh from his possession.
Identified as PrajwalVijay Hatwar (22), the accused is a resident of Hazarewadi, Vakilpeth, Imambada. Sarthak Chandrashekhar Sawant (21), who runs Rasika Travels, had parked his Tata Indigo car (MH-34/M-9966) vehicle in front of his office on Chandramani Nagar Garden Road on December 9. Prajwal; stole the car on the same night. Another car Toyota Innova (MH31/DK-2477), which was also parked in front of the same office was also stolen by him.
Cops had a doubt on Prajwal as he was working in the same travel agency. Cops detained him on suspicion. During questioning, he spilled the beans. Besides stealing these two cars, he had also stolen a Hero Splendor motorcycle (MH-31/DN-4176) from Ajni area.
Similarly, Prajwal had stolen Honda Activa 4g(MH31/FD-5081) and Hero Splendor Plus (MH-31/CX-3618) from Rana Pratap Nagar and Gittikhadan areas. Accused Prajwal, who was also involved in other serious crimes, was planning to selling the stolen vehicles to some scrap dealers.
The arrest was made by Senior PI Vijay Talware, PI Mahendra Ambhore, PSI AshishThakur and constabulary staff under the supervision of DCP (Zone-IV ) Nurool Hasan and AC (Ajni Division) Ganesh Biradar.
