Nagpur: Former Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit, paid tribute to the late Vinod Babu Maheshwari, Editor-in-Chief of Navbharat-Navrashtra, highlighting his deep commitment to the principles of service in journalism. Purohit described Maheshwari as a remarkable individual who expertly managed both journalism and business. The tribute event, organized by the Nagpur Press Club and the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), saw the presence of representatives from various social, political, and literary organizations in the city.
Prominent figures such as Suresh Sharma, head of Baidyanath and President of Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan; Nimish Maheshwari, Editor-in-Chief of Navbharat; Pradeep Maitra; MLAs Kripal Tumane and Krishna Khopde; S.P. Singh; and Yashwant Mohite were present on the dais. They fondly recalled Maheshwari’s contributions to journalism, social causes, and literature.
Speakers including State Information Commissioner Rahul Pandey, senior journalists S.N. Vinod, Joseph Rao, Atul Kotecha, Umakant Agrinhoatri, Govind Prasad Upadhyay, Shrikrishna Chandak, and Vijay Kevalramani also offered their heartfelt tributes.
The event was moderated by Manish Soni, with attendance from several other prominent personalities such as Rajendra Purohit, S.Q. Jama, Amit Vajpayee, Raja Upadhyay, Kamla Mohata, Rampratap Shukla, Vinay Jain, Sanjay Pugalia, Manish Chhallani, Krishna Nagpal, and Sagar Khadiwala.
