Nagpur: Two young men, along with their minor friend, kidnapped a student for a ransom of Rs 5,000 to purchase drugs, in Beltarodi Police Station area of Nagpur. The accused took the victim to a secluded place and assaulted him. They even filmed his nude video and threatened to make it viral.
The police have arrested two persons in this connection. The arrested accused include Harshal Rajesh Shahu (19), a resident of Balkrishna Nagar, Manewada-Besa Road and Prayag Ravindra Meshram (19), a resident of Mudra Nagar, Manewada. The case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, a resident of Narendra Nagar.
His son (17) studies in 12th class. On Saturday night, he went with his friends to watch Garba at Narendra Nagar ground. The parents returned home at 11.30 pm but the boy stayed there. At around 12 midnight, the accused Harshal approached him and took him away on the pretext of an important discussion. Prayag and a minor accompanied him. They forcefully took him to Shankarpur in their SUV (MH-31/CP-7811) and beat him up.
The accused forced him to remove his clothes and filmed a video of the act. Later, the accused threatened him to make the video viral and demanded money for drugs. The victim gave them Rs 3,000 from his pocket. Even after this, the accused were demanding money. When they beat him again he called his friend and asked him to send Rs 2,000 on the QR code given by the accused. After this, the accused left him back in Narendra Nagar. They threatened to kill him if he complained to the police.
When the victim reached home, his face was swollen. When his family inquired, he narrated the incident. The family members took him to Beltarodi Police Station and lodged a complaint. Police registered a case under Sections 137, 308(4), 140(2), 296, 351(2), 115 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against Harshal and Prayag and also took a juvenile delinquent into custody. Harshal and Prayag are engineering students. Harshal’s father is a hotelier.
