Two aged women robbed of Rs 2.12 lakh booty while travelling in autos

Nagpur: Two aged women were robbed of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 2.12 lakh while travelling in autos in two separate incidents reported under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj and Hudkeshwar police stations.

In the first incident, after withdrawing her gold and silver ornaments from bank locker, Kamlabai Ramrup Sahu (64), resident of Plot. No. 139, Bharat Nagar, boarded an auto at Jagdish Hotel in Lakadganj for going to Old Bus Stand Motar stand around 6 pm on Monday. She deboarded the auto and went home. However, when Kamlabai opened her bag, she was taken aback the gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1,78,000 were missing. Some unidentified woman or man travelling in the auto pilfered the booty slyly.

Lakadganj ASI Upadhyay has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for the accused.

In another case, reported under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar Police Station, a resident of Plot. No. 101, Shivaji Colony, Rajapeth Bus Stop, Sitabai Devrao Pochge (72), withdrew her pension from Maharashtra Bank, Bhagwan Nagar Branch, around 12.30 pm on Tuesday. She boarded an auto (MH/49/E/4298) from Medical Square for going to Rajapeth, Hudkeshwar Road. Midway, an unidentified person distracted her attention and burgled Rs 34,000 kept in a handbag.

Hudkeshwar PSI Parute has registered a case under Section 379 and started probe.
