Nagpur: Two aged bank customers were cheated to the tune of Rs 21,000 by two conmen at ATM centre and in the bank itself.
In the first incident, Devrao Khushal Murmare (68), resident of Kalpataru Colony, Kamptee, around 10 am on Friday went to Garud Square-based ATM kiosk of SBI. An unidentified person standing behind Devrao in the queue told him he will help in withdrawing money from the ATM. The miscreant took ATM card of Devrao and slyly withdrew Rs 14,000 by distracting his attention.
New Kamptee PSI Tople has booked the unidentified goon under Section 420 of the IPC and searching for him.
Similarly, a woman named Radhabai Moreshwar Kamne (60), resident of Radke Square, Kamptee, had gone to SBI Barnch at Garud Square on Friday to deposit Rs 7,000. An unidentified person, with his glib talk, won the confidence of Radhabai and told her he will deposit the amount. The conman took Rs 7000 from Radhabai and fled the spot taking advantage of rush at the bank.
New Kamptee woman police constable Kalpana has registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC.
