Nagpur News : Cases of day light robbery and thefts are on a rise these days in Orange City. Two cases of thefts were registered in city on Sunday.
In the first incidence, unidentified thieves looted cash Rs 10,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 3.22 lakh under the jurisdiction of Sadar Station on Sunday evening. According to police, Kanta Vishwanath Ingole (60), a resident of Plot No. 10, Burde layout, Gorewada Tank Road, was coming from Saoner bus with her daughter and grandson. She got down at Sadar. While walking towards autorickshaw stand, she found that her bag was lighter than it should be. When she checked, her gold ornaments and cash Rs 10,000 was missing. She immediately lodged a complaint with Sadar Police.
Sadar police have registered an offence of robbery against unidentified thieves under Sec 379 of the IPC, informed PI Rajratan Bansod.
In another incidence, a woman was relieved of her gold chain and locket under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar Police Station. According to police, Deokali Ramadhan Varma (46), a resident of Plot No. 3, Ashtvinayak Nagar, Jaitala Road, went to buy vegetables from vendor Sanjay Tarare at Prasad Nagar market. Taking advantage of the crowd, two-three unidentified women, very smartly, snatched Deokali’s chain and locket. When deokali realized her chain was missing, she immediately filed a complaint with Pratap Nagar Police Station.
On the complain of Deokali, police have registered an offence against unidentified women under Sec 379 of the IPC.
Police are conducting investigation in both the cases.
