Nagpur: Two debt-ridden men committed suicide due to financial crisis in separate incidents in Wadi and Pardi police areas of Nagpur.
In the first case, a debt-ridden man ended his life in the Wadi area. The deceased was identified as Adeep Domaji Dhengre (45), a resident of Imambada. Adeep had bought a goods vehicle on a bank loan and started a transport business. He was unable to pay monthly installments of the loan due to unexpected low profit in the business. Adeep was under stress as he defaulted on monthly installments for the past few months. On Saturday evening, Adeep consumed poison near Hotel Malibu in Waddhamna area. He was found lying unconscious. Wadi police rushed him to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Another incident was reported in Pardi area in which a 36-year-old man committed suicide due to financial crisis. The deceased was identified as Gokul Babarao Mankawde, a resident of Jhansi Rani Square, Pardi.
Gokul used to work as an electrician and was addicted to alcohol. He had borrowed money from relatives and friends to manage finances for home. He was unable to repay the loans. As a result, he committed suicide. The incident came to the fore at 8.45 pm. Gokul was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a saree.
A case of accidental death was registered by Pardi police. Further investigation is on.
