Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Anti-Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch nabbed a middle aged drug peddler in Kalamna area on Sunday and seized 20 kg of Ganja worth Rs 2.09 lakh from his possession. Similarly, the Crime Branch also arrested a young man in Sadar area and recovered 5 gm of Mephedrone (MD), a synthetic stimulant drug, worth Rs 61,000.
Head constable of Anti-Narcotics Cell Tulsi Shukla received secret information on Sunday that a drug peddler is coming to a place in front of Gattani Seva Niketan Building on Pardi Road and he was possessing some narcotic stuff. Accordingly, a team reached the spot and detained the man. Upon frisking, cops found the man, named Raibirendersingh Kirpalsingh (52), native of Uparwada, district Sambalpur, Odisha, in possession of 20 kg of Ganja worth Rs 2.09 lakh. Cops immediately booked the accused under relevant sections of NDPS Act and placed him under arrest.
Similarly, in another action, Crime Branch sleuths rounded up a drug peddler from Sadar area and recovered 5 gm of Mephedrone (MD), a synthetic stimulant drug, worth Rs 61,000. The accused has identified as Aman Madhukar Masram (23), resident of SRPF Camp, 107/1, Hingna Road.
The Crime Branch sleuths, during patrolling, spotted a suspicious man roaming behind Anushakti Apartment, CP and Berar School Road. Cops detained him and interrogated him. On being frisked, cops found the accused Aman Masram in possession of 5 gm of Mephedrone (MD). The accused was booked under Section 21(B) of the NDPS Act and arrested.
