Nagpur: The NDPS unit of the Nagpur Crime Branch has arrested two criminals involved in smuggling marijuana through a courier service. Approximately 22 kilograms of marijuana have been seized from them. The operation took place outside a courier company on Jaitala Road under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar Police Station. Goods worth around ₹6.5 lakh, including a car, were confiscated.
The crime branch’s NDPS unit received information that the criminals were ordering marijuana in parcels from Odisha through the courier company. Acting on this tip, the police arrested the two accused outside the Express Biz courier company office on Jaitala Road with the parcel.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Karan Pothiwal from Manewada and Shahrukh Karim Khan from Bada Tajbagh. During the operation, the police seized approximately 22 kilograms of marijuana, three mobile phones, a car, and goods worth about ₹6.5 lakh. During interrogation, one of the arrested accused revealed that they had delivered goods to another person named Ajinkya. Following this lead, the police have started searching for other suspects involved.
