Two killed as bike rams into Metro Rail pillar in Sitabuldi

Nagpur: Two persons lost their lives, one of whom was an engineering student, as their speeding motorcycle rammed into a pillar in front of the Jhansi Rani Metro Station under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi Police Station.

The victims have been identified as Om Sanjay Bahade (20) and Karthik Sunil Mandawkar (20), both hailing from Hingna, Nagpur and natives of Yavatmal.

According to police, Om, a second-year student at Priyadarshini Engineering College, and Karthik, pursuing a marketing course, were on a motorcycle with (MH-29-BX-2420) when the accident occurred around midnight on Tuesday. Om lost control of the motorcycle and rammed the bike into a pillar of Metro Rail. Both the riders received severe injuries. Sitabuldi police arrived at the scene and rushed the injured youths to Mayo Hospital where they succumbed to injuries.

A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and MVA was registered by the police.
