Two knocked dead in mishaps
Nagpur News : Rash drivers knocked two people in separate incident in city in the last 24 hours. At Ajni, a 32-year-old man was knocked dead on Thursday afternoon.
Ulhas Chandekar, a resident of Chandra Nagar, was crossing the road near Omkar Nagar when a speeding tanker hit him causing his death. Chandekar, a saloon owner, leaves behind his wife and a daughter.
Another incident took place in Kotwali where an unidentified man was killed in a hit-and-run mishap near Reshimbagh on Wednesday evening.
In another incident today a 73-year-old woman claimed that her gold ornaments worth rs 1.5 lakhs were stolen while she had been to a wedding at Morbhavan in Sitabuldi and returned at her daughter’s house in Dharampeth.
Pratibh Khedikar, a resident of Lakhani in Bhandara, said that she attended the wedding on December 16 and came to Dharampeth in the night. She noticed the valuables gone missing on the next day. Police said that the complainant initially searched at the wedding venue and her relatives house and later lodged the complaint when she failed to find the valuables.
