Two men sent to jail for rape of 15-yr old girl in Nagpur

Nagpur: Additional Sessions Judge R R Bhosale in Nagpur on Tuesday awarded 22 years and 23 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) to Nikhil Rajesh Dakah and Pritish Premdas Mahurle respectively for sexually exploiting a minor girl.

According to the prosecution, Nikhil Dakah (20), a resident of Gaddigodam sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl residing in Sadar area at different places between March 30, 2018 and May 6, 2019. Similarly, Pritish Mahurle (24), a resident of Wanadongri, also raped the victim at her maternal aunt’s house.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, Sadar Police registered a case under Sections 376(2)(j)(n), 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), read with Sections 4, 5(l)(n) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, against Nikhil and Pritesh. Cops arrested Nikhil and Pritish on May 29, 2019. Pritish was also involved in a murder case.

Assistant Police Inspector Ashwini Wankhede investigated the case and filed a chargesheet against the accused duo in the court. As the charges were proved against them, the court sentenced Nikhil to 22 years RI for the offences under Sections 376(2)(j)(n) of the IPC and Sections 5(l), 6 of the POCSO Act with a fine of Rs 50,000. Similarly, the court awarded 23 years RI with a fine of Rs 50,000 to Pritish for the same offence. If they failed to pay the fine, they would undergo additional one year RI.
