Two more incidents of suicide were reported in city on Friday.
According to police, in the first incident, a 49-year-old man committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling in his house. A resident of Luvkush Nagar, Plot No. 59, Vyankatraman Shrishailam Rao’s body was found hanging to the ceiling with a dupatta around his neck. On being informed, Hudkeshwar police reached the spot and after completing paper work, sent body of victim for post mortem to Government Medical College and Hospital. However, the reason behind Vyankatraman taking the extreme step could not be ascertained as police have reportedly not found any suicide note. A case of accidental death has been registered by police.
In the second incident, a 21-year-old girl ended her life at her aunt’s house on Friday. The victim, Priyanka alias Gudiya Raju Sonekar (21), a resident of Kamptee, had gone to her aunt at Mhada Quarters, Plot No. 14. On Friday, she reportedly hanged herself to the ceiling fan with the help of a dupatta. Her aunt discovered Priyanka hanging to the ceiling and immediately informed her family members and Nandanvan police as well. Cops reached the spot and after preliminary investigation, sent the body for post mortem to Government Medical College and Hospital. Further investigation is likely to reveal the reason behind this drastic step by Priyanka. Meanwhile, cops have registered a case of accidental death.
