Lakadganj police arrested two thieves of a gang planning a robbery in Wardhaman Nagar on Thursday.
Police said, the accused, identified as Anil Jeevram Sarate (24), a resident of Plot No. 19, Sugat Nagar; Nitesh Masaram Raut (22), a resident of Bhosasur slums, Motibagh; Ravi alias Barik Suresh Hirankhede (19), a native of Chhindwada; Vishal Vasanta Patil (29), a resident of Lashkaribagh and another of their mate were planning a robbery in Wardhaman area on Thursday.
The patrolling party suspected the accused who met near Chandak Petrol Pump, Juna Bhandara Road, Wardhaman Nagar. When searched thoroughly, police recovered a sword, a knife, an iron rod, chilli powder, cell phone, and a nylon rope from their possession. After this, Lakadganj police arrested Anil Sarate and Vishal Patil while other thieves managed to escape. Cops have launched a search for the other thieves. During interrogation, the arrested thieves spilled the names of their mates. However, it is not confirm as to where they were planning a robbery.
