Nagpur: In two separately occurred incidents, two persons committed suicide on Monday evening. They are named Yogesh Shirpurkar, 35 and Raju Wankhede, 48.
According to police, Yogesh Shirpurkar was resident of Minimata Nagar, Kalmana, and he hanged himself at about 10.45 pm and thus committed suicide. Kalmana police, on being informed, reached the spot and made panchanama of the dead body, and registered a case of accidental death.
In another incident under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station,
Raju Wankhede, resident of Gangabai Ghat, committed suicide by hanging himself against the roof of his house (with a nylon rope) at about 9.30 pm on Monday.
A suicide note was recovered from his possession, which revealed that the cause of suicide was his deputation to Chandrapur Jail from Central Prison Nagpur over the issue of a mobile phone recovered from prisoners of Nagpur Central Prison. He had lost his father about eight days ago. He was under shock and was not attending his duty. Besides, he was harassed by senior officers in the jail, and he was thus dejected to live any more. Kotwali police for the time being has registered a case of accidental death, and further investigations are underway.
