Nagpur: By a quirk of fate, two road robbers landed in police custody while trying to loot an employee of Central Jail. The incident took place at 11.30 on Tuesday night.
The Nagpur Central Jail employee, Yogesh Laxmanrao Patil (36), resident of Jail Quarter No. 170, was returning home after filling petrol in his Honda Activa (MH-27/AN 4887) at 11.30 pm on Tuesday. When Yogesh reached near Hanuman Temple, Ajni Square, three motorcycle-borne road robbers stopped him and pleaded him to drop them at a nearby hospital and let talk them with relatives on his mobile phone. However, even before Yogesh could respond to their ‘request,’ the three robbers threw chili powder in the eyes of Yogesh and snatched a gold chain he was wearing. But when the three robbers tried to flee on their motorcycle (MH-40/H 1299), the bike slipped and the trio crashed on the road. Taking advantage of the situation, Yogesh started shouting for help. His shouts got heard by nearby people and they rushed to the spot. Two of the road robbers, Bunty Sagar Dhoke (23), resident of Nazul Layout, Jaripatka and Rahul Shivpal Bahadure (24), native of Wardha, were caught while the third accused named Akshay managed to flee. Both the caught robbers were subjected to sound thrashing by the people before handing them to Dhantoli police.
Based on complaint lodged by Yogesh Patil, PSI Pawar registered a case against Bunty Sagar Dhoke and Rahul Shivpal Bahadure under Sections 393, 34 of IPC and took them into custody while a search has been launched to nab the third robber Akshay.
