Two robbers arrested for snatching man’s gold chain in Sadar, Nagpur

Nagpur: Sadar Police in Nagpur on Thursday arrested two of the three robbers who had looted a gold chain worth Rs 60,000 from a 32-year-old man after thrashing him near Chhaoni Police Chowky.

The accused have been identified as Tushar Ajay Nakke (22), a resident of Plot No 86, behind Barakholi, Kamal Chowk, Indora and Dhammadeep Anil Walde (20), a resident of House No. 475, Republican Nagar, New Indora.

Around 12.15 am on October 14, Rupesh Dinesh Kanojiya, a resident of Lane No 7, Taj Nagar, Mankapur Chowk, was returning home on a Honda Activa. Tushar Nakke, Dhammadeep Walde and one of their accomplices came on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle from behind. They stopped Rupesh Kanojiya and thrashed him. They then hurled abuses at him. They then snatched away a gold chain worth Rs 60,000 worn by him.

On Kanojiya’s complaint, Sadar Police had registered a case under Section 309, 115(2), 352 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Acting on a tip off, cops nabbed Tushar and Dhammadeep and launched a search for the third accused.

Two men held for assault, robbery in Ganeshpeth

A taem from the Crime Branch’s Unit-3 of Nagpur Police apprehended two individuals involved in the assault and robbery of an air-conditioning technician in the Ganeshpeth area.

The suspects, identified as Samarth Parag Bhosale (22) and Sanket Nitin Kattale (23), are residents of Naik Road, Mahal, Kotwali. The incident took place around 2.30 pm on October 15, when Ravindra Shyamrao Wankhede (42) and Prajwal Shambharkar (18), both AC technicians, visited the State Bank of India, Mahal Branch. While Wankhede went inside to update his passbook, Shambharkar was approached by the suspects on a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle. They demanded Rs 5,000 from Shambharkar, and when he refused, they assaulted him and stole his tool kit valued at Rs 15,000.

Following Wankhede’s complaint, the Ganeshpeth Police registered a case under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Acting on specific intelligence, the Unit-3 team arrested Bhosale and Kattale at Reshimbag ground, recovering the stolen tool kit and seizing the motorcycle, valued at Rs 1.5 lakh, used in the commission of the crime.

The arrests were made under the supervision of senior Crime Branch officers, led by PI Mukund Thakre and PSI N R Deokate. The accused duo was handed over to the Ganeshpeth Police for further investigation.
