Two including a 19-year-old mentally disabled girl committed suicide by setting themselves ablaze under the jurisdiction of Nandanwan police station.
Israt Jahan Khan, a resident of Darshan Colony, succumbed to her burn injuries on Friday morning, which she had suffered after she had set herself on fire on Monday. She was undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital. Police said her family members informed she was mentally disturbed and was undergoing treatment. She was depressed of her illness and thus might have taken extreme step. No suicide note was found.

In another incident, a 42-year-old Chandrashekhar Sontakke had set himself ablaze on Sunday at his Shakti Mata Nagar residence. He died during treatment at GMCH on Friday.
