Nagpur: Two students have lodged a complaint with Ambazari police accusing the Head of Hindi Department of RTMNU Dr Manoj Pande of harassment, according to a report in a local Hindi daily.
The report said that in their complaint, the two students said that the Head of the Department took money from students for a private function. The students with weak financial conditions were also forced to pay the money. The students also alleged that the Head of the Department deliberately delayed signing on the synopsis submitted by them for PhD. Though he signed it after direct intervention by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Sanjay Dudhe, he held up the letter for no reason. “We faced mental trauma for this mistreatment,” said the two students in their police complaint.
According to the report, the students have also levelled several charges against Member of RTMNU’s Management Council Vishnu Changde and demanded a thorough probe and filing of FIR against them.
The Head of Hindi Department Dr Mano Pande has dismissed the charges levelled by the students as baseless. “Earlier also, I was accused of wrong-doing. The charges were investigated and a clean chit was given to me. The complaint lodged by the students is a counter complaint. I had lodged a complaint with Ambazari police on September 1 against the two students fearing life threats,” Dr Pande stated.
