Two-Year-Old Drowns in Water Tank During Ganesh Immersion Procession in MIDC

Nagpur: A tragic incident occurred in Amar Nagar, within the jurisdiction of the MIDC police, where a two-year-old boy drowned in an open water tank during a Ganesh immersion procession. The incident took place on the night of September 19.

According to reports, 42-year-old Brijmohan Dhaniram Bandewar took his two sons, Vansh (4) and Laksh (2), to watch the immersion procession. While Vansh stayed with his father, Laksh wandered off into the crowd. Initially, Brijmohan thought Laksh might have gone home, but upon returning, he discovered that Laksh was missing.

After searching the area, Laksh was found floating in an open water tank belonging to their neighbor, Guptarsingh Kalaar, around 7 PM. He was rushed to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Based on Brijmohan’s complaint, the MIDC police have registered an accidental death case and have initiated further investigations.
