Union Bank of India Customers Alerted Against Fraudulent WhatsApp Messages

Nagpur : The Cyber Police Station, Nagpur, has issued an alert for Union Bank of India account holders regarding recent financial frauds involving fake WhatsApp messages.

Two cases have been registered where fraudsters sent messages using the Union Bank’s display picture and an attachment labeled “unionbank aadhar update16.apk” with an .apk extension, which is around 3.5 to 4 MB in size. These messages aim to deceive account holders into downloading the file, thereby gaining access to their mobile banking details.

Account holders are advised not to open such messages or click on any links. Instead, they should contact the bank’s toll-free number at 18002082244 to secure their accounts. In the event of financial fraud, they should immediately report the incident by calling 1930 or by visiting the Cyber Police Station or the nearest police station.
