Unit 2 of Crime Branch nabs 4 including minor for housebreaking in Mankapur, Koradi

Nagpur: The Unit 2 of Crime Branch on Monday nabbed 4 burglars including a minor in connection with the housebreaking cases in Mankapur and Koradi localities. Cops also recovered valuables including mobile phones, cameras, watches and other materials collectively worth Rs 56,700 from their possession.

Smoking addiction drove the accused identified as Vitthal Ramsingh Madavi (26), Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Firoz (18), Vaibhav Sharad Farkade (20) all residents of Shrikrishna Nagar, Koradi, who all work with a private company, into the world of crime. The accused along with juvenile would gain entry into locked houses and escape with goods like mobile phones, cameras, watches etc, the police said.

The matter came to fore, on April 4 when the patrolling squad of Unit 2 received the information about the accused form their informer. The squad cornered all the accused near Mankapur Square at around 5.30am. When cops questioned the accused about the phones they were using and reason of assembling in the early hours of the day, the accused could not give satisfactory answers. When cops further interrogated them, they confessed to their crime and handed over stolen goods to them.

PI A P Taksade, API S R Parteki, constables Ravindra Gavande, Prakash Wankhede, Vijay Lekurwade, Satish Pande, Mahesh Kursange, Baljeet Thakur, Sayyad Wahid, Shyam Gorle and Ashwin Pillewar contributed in the investigation.

The arrest action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Crime) Nilesh Bharne and ACP (Crime) Sudhir Nandanwar.
