Nagpur News: The University examinations due to begin on Monday have been postponed for a month,RTMNU Vice- Chancellor Vilas Sapkal announced to a crowd of protesting students at the University premises on Sunday evening.
The students, mainly Engineering students, have been protesting arbitrary checking that cost them their right to give their University exams, for two days. The issue was taken up at the ongoing University Senate meet by Senators Manmohan Bajpai and Abhijeet Wanjari, upon whose insistence a special committee was formed to consider postponement of exams and other measures on an urgent basis.
Manmohan Bajpai confirmed the development, saying, “University exams for students of Engineering and Architecture due to begin tomorrow have been postponed for a month. The fresh dates are yet to be finalised”.
The last- minute call has brought immense relief to thousand of students, who would otherwise have had to lose an entire academic year for no fault of theirs. Students were returned answer sheets with glaring mistakes in totalling and answers left completely unchecked. The answer sheets have started to come in from revaluation and further appeal two days ago with mistakes intact, leaving the students as hapless as ever.
