UPSC CDS II Exam 2015: Eligibility criteria

Nagpur: The UPSC CDS II examination would be held on November 1 this year. The online application can be filled upto August 14 till 11:59 PM, after which the registrations will be closed.

The exam is conducted by the UPSC two times in a year, with the purpose of recruiting people into the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy (For men and women both). Only graduate unmarried candidates are eligible to appear for the exam.

A written test would be conducted to shortlist candidates followed by an interview, after which they would be enrolled into the respective institutes. The paper would consist of questions from English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. There would be negative marking present for each wrong answer.

Eligible candidates would be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination.

Following is the eligibility criteria for UPSC CDS II examination 2015:

Eligibility criteria for getting through each of these institutes is different.

For Indian Military Academy / Officers’ Training Academy, the candidate must possess a degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

For Naval Academy, the candidate must possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

And for the Air Force Academy, the candidate must be possessing a degree from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

The basic eligibility criteria is as follows:

The candidates who want to register for the exam, must be a citizen of India / a subject of Bhutan / a subject of Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st July, 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from other countries and permanently settled in India.
