Nagpur: The Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat train will start operations from September 15 onwards. Apart from Nagpur-Secunderabad train, in a boost to inter-city connectivity, Pune-Nagpur will be one of the 10 Vande Bharat Express trains Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch at an event at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand on September 15.

The Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat train was announced last year but due to non-availability of coaches, it was not started yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the train, which is among 10 Vande Bharat trains on September 15.

As per information, General Manager Dharamveer Meena and other senior officials of Central Railway are likely to attend the function at Nagpur Railway Station. As per details, the Vande Bharat Express train between Nagpur and Secunderabad will run on all days except Tuesday. The normal journey by Mail/Express train on 578 kms takes about 8-hours while Vande Bharat will cover the distance within 7.15 hours.

The timetable released by the Railway Board states that ex-NagpurVande Bharat will start at 5 am and reach Secunderabad at 12:15 pm. The stoppages provided en route are Sevagram (5.48/5.50 am), Chandrapur (7.18/7.20 am), Ballarshah (7.35/7.40 am), Ramagundam (9.08/9.10 am), and Kazipet stations (10.04/10.06 am).

On the return journey, the train ex-Secunderabad will start at 1 pm and will arrive in Nagpur at 8:20 pm. This will be the second Vande Bharat ex-Nagpur, the first being Nagpur-Bilaspur. Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat will have 16 coaches and its primary maintenance will be carried out at Ajni Car Shed. Only once in a week the MEMU will require maintenance and hence that day it will not operate.

On other days basic maintenance will be carried out at the platforms after the arrival of Vande Bharat Express. Previously Bilaspur Vande Bharat used to run with 16 coaches but post study of occupancy about 8-cars were withdrawn and now the train runs with 8-chair cars. In case of Secunderabad Vande Bharat it remains to be seen whether there is sufficient occupancy on the route as another train operates on the same route and its timing is quite convenient and it is sleeper. The Vande Bharat that is being introduced will be a chair car.
