Nagpur: Blaming the Nagpur Municipal Corporation administration for halting development works in city for want of funds, the Leader of Opposition Tanaji Vanve has threatened to stall the special meeting to be held on Saturday.

“The weak ruling party and the ‘inactive’ Acting Municipal Commissioner are responsible for the nasty state of affairs in the civic body. A number of proposals for development works have not been signed and are gathering dust. If the administration failed to initiate concrete measures for starting of development works today itself, then tomorrow’s special meeting would be stalled,” warned Vanve to the Acting Municipal Commissioner.

It may be recalled, the cash-strapped NMC administration has not cleared proposals of many ruling as well as opposition corporators. Work orders of many proposals have been issued or tenders floated. But instead of giving attention to the proposals, the NMC administration and the ruling party are focusing on other non-important issues, said Vanve and warned the Acting Municipal Commissioner to take concrete decision on the proposals or else the special meeting of NMC would not be allowed to function normally.
