Nagpur:The Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais suspended the Vice-Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr Subhash Chaudhari on Wednesday. The Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University Dr Prashant Bokare has been directed to take charge from Dr Chaudhari.
Dr Chaudhari was appointed the VC in August 2020. Although the reason for his suspension mentioned in the suspension letter is not known, Dr Chaudhari’s tenure was full of controversies. A large number of complaints had piled up in the office of the Governor who is also ex-officio Chancellor of the Universities in Maharashtra and also with the Higher Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.
