Victim catches robber after a hard chase on CA Road

Nagpur: Looting a man proved costly for two Haryana-based youths. One of them was chased and caught while another managed to escape. The absconding robber is being hunted by cops.

The complainant Umesh Sitaram Jumde (32), resident of Ambe Nagar, Pardi, had gone to Bank of Patiala’s ATM on Central Avenue Road around 3 pm on Wednesday. Umesh withdrew Rs 20000 from the ATM and was about to leave the spot. However, even before he could step out, the two accused Mohd Ebrahim Abdul Hamid (24) and Mohd Jafar (24), both natives of Haryana, entered the ATM and snatched Rs 20000 from Umesh and started fleeing the spot.

However, Umesh gave a hard chase and caught Mohd Ebrahim but Mohd Jafar managed to escape with the cash. The caught robber was given a sound thrashing before being handed over to Ganeshpeth police.

PSI Parchake has booked both the accused robbers under Sections 392, 34 of IPC and launched a search to nab the absconding Mohd Jafar.
