Vidarbha Mini Under-7 Chess Tournament held

Nagpur News: Budding players from Akola Shlok Chandrani and Sanskruti Wankhede emerged winners in Vidarbha Mini Under-7 Chess Tournament which was organised by Vidarbha Chess Association at NIT Hall, Surendra Nagar on Saturday.

In the boys section, Shlok Chandrani, a student of School of Scholars, Akola triumphed with highest six points. Devansh Sarda of Modern Primary School (5, 23) finished runners-up. Centre Point School, Wardhmannagar emerged topper with 13 points followed by DPS Dabha (10.5) and Modern Primary School (8.5).

In the girls section, Sanskruti Wankhade of Suffah English High School, Akola topped the points tally with four points. Shrushti Fulzele of Somalwar High School, Nikalas emerged runners-up. Top two boys and two girls have been selected to represent Vidarbha in the State tournament. Vidarbha Chess Association secretary RN Shriwas was the chief guest of prize distribution function. Chief arbiter Umesh Panbude, Sushant Jumde, Dipak Patrikar, Pravin Pantawane and Kamlakar Kodawate worked hard for the success of tournamet.
