Nagpur: Three persons including a Yavatmal resident, attempted to kill a 30-year-old man allegedly over a love affair in Ajni Police Station area on Sunday night.
According to Police, the victim, Sahil Ajay Choudhary, a resident of Plot No 48, Jaywant Nagar, received a phone call around 9.30 pm. The caller told him that he was his old friend and had come to meet him. The caller then asked him to come near Sahyadri Lawns at Shatabdi Chowk.

When he went there, Om Angadkar (a native of Yavatmal) and two of his accomplices accosted Sahil over his love affair with a girl. Om and Sahil were in love with the same woman, this led to a heated exchange between them. During the same the accused attacked Sahil with knives and fled the spot. With deep injuries on his chest, abdomen and head, Sahil was rushed to Government Medical College & Hospital.
After recording the victim’s statement, Ajni Police registered a case under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC against the assailants and arrested them.
