Nagpur: As the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) surges and the government pushes for greener alternatives, many Nagpur residents are facing unexpected challenges with their EVs. Once these vehicles are sold, it seems that showroom owners are neglecting their after-sales responsibilities, particularly when it comes to timely servicing.
Several EV owners have reported that when their scooters require repairs, service centers often take more than a week to return the vehicles. This delay is causing significant inconvenience, especially for those who rely on their EVs for daily commutes.
In an investigation by Nagpur Today, a local showroom employee shed light on the breakdown protocol. If a scooter breaks down in the middle of the road, the owner is provided with a customer service number. Upon contacting this number, a mechanic is dispatched to the location within 15-20 minutes, depending on the distance. However, this service is only available if the breakdown occurs within 100 kilometers of the service center.
While this quick response may be reassuring, the prolonged wait times for repairs highlight a critical issue that needs to be addressed, especially as more residents turn to electric vehicles. With the growing demand for EVs, service centers are under increasing pressure to meet customer expectations, yet they seem to be falling short in doing so
