Nagpur: In view of the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced revision of voters list to ensure no eligible voter is deprived of voting. As part of this initiative, collection of Form No. 6 for registration of new voters has been planned.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits from June 25 to July 24 to verify the voter list. They will collect Form No. 6 from eligible voters who have turned 18. Names of deceased voters, duplicate voters, and those not found at their address will be removed from the voter list to correct any errors.

Additionally, voters whose names were not found in the published voter list of March 27, based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, will also be registered. District Collector, and District Election Officer, Vipin Itankar has urged all voters and representatives of political parties to verify that their names are on the voters list.

For the Assembly elections, polling stations will be streamlined. This includes changing the names, locations, and addresses of polling stations as necessary. The revised and consolidated voters list will be published on July 25. Claims and objections to the published voters list can be submitted from July 25 to August 9.

Special camps will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays during this period, with dates to be determined by the Chief Electoral Officer.
