Nagpur News : A delegation of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) led by its President J. P. Sharma felicitated G. B. Indurkar by flower bouquet on his recent appointment as Additional Sales Tax Commissioner, after retirement of Mohd Naimuddin on 31.03.2013.
During meeting various issues related to VAT refund and assessments where discussed, Sharma also pointed out issue of disallowance of Set-off &/or Refund claim of purchasing dealer for default by selling dealer definitely requires reconsideration.
Tejinder Singh Renu, secretary of VTA submitted that traders are already troubled with MVAT and now recent enforcement of Local Body Tax (LBT) had made stakeholders more worried and hence are on strike against this cumbersome tax procedure and stringent rules. He said had State Government given us an opportunity to discuss removal of Octroi, we would have suggested marginal increment of VAT rates to fund local bodies, instead of this additional tax compliance.
Addl. Commissioner G. B. Indurkar assured VTA members that he’ll try his level best to resolve taxpayers’ issues, which are under his ambit.
Other present in the delegation were Joint Secretary Hemant Trivedi, executive body members Amarjeet Singh Chawla, Rohit Agrawal, CA Hemant Sarda, Rajesh Kanoongo and Ashwin Agrawal.
