Recently the Nagpur Traffic Police had made a decision to file FIR on wrong side road users. Welcoming this decision, a delegation of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) led by its president Shrawankumar Malu met and submitted thanks to Shashikant Satav – DCP Traffic Nagpur.
Shrawankumar Malu – president of VTA said, this is an exemplary decision in public interest as it will definitely curb accidents which mostly happen due to wrong side driving. Our road users need to follow traffic rules, which not only makes our roads safer but also carry a good image of the city before our guests visiting Nagpur.
Tejinder Singh Renu – secretary of VTA said, this is such an appreciable step; VTA had been suggesting the police department to be strict on traffic violators, as fear is the only key. However to make this more impactful and meaningful, traffic police need to pick points where most wrong side users are breaking the law and traffic police should randomly visit them for long term advantage of this policy. Furthermore, instead of traffic cops standing in a group, they should be scattered and manage traffic on different roads of any square.
DCP Traffic Shashikant Satav expressed thanks for visiting his office; he said that he is committed to make our roads safe and requested Nagpurians to cooperate with traffic police in order to make our orange city roads safe.
Also present in the delegation were Hemant Trivedi Vice President and Amarjit Singh Chawla – Joint Secretary.
