Panic and subsequent scramble for life was witnessed in Khapri when waste material lying near a petrol pump caught fire mysteriously early Monday morning.

According to information, the waste material, dumped by Indian Oil petrol pump situated in Khapri, suddenly caught fire and thus created panic in the nearby area. Residents scrambled and immediately informed Fire Brigade that dispatched two fire tenders to control and douse the fire. After struggling for some time, fire officials finally controlled the fire.

The officials informed that rising heat and temperature might have caused the waste material to catch fire. However, detailed investigation will reveal the exact cause of fire.
