Nagpur: The volunteers of Wildlife Welfare Society rescued a python and a cobra caught in a fisherman’s net in Koradi Lake here, on Sunday.
Wildlife Welfare Society volunteers Harish Chinkali and Rajnikant Bopche received a call regarding two snakes trapped in a fishing net of a local fisherman in Koradi Lake. Acting swiftly on the input, the duo rushed to Koradi.
Both the reptiles were trapped inside a boat right in the middle of the lake. The volunteers, using another boat, approached the fisherman who had fished out a 6 feet long python and a cobra. They subsequently rescued them.
Prima facie it appears that the two reptiles were stuck in the fishing net for days. The duo sustained multiple injuries on their bodies. They have been rushed to the Transit Treatment Centre for treatment.
