Nagpur: To usher in the Yuletide season the Waldorf way, the Nagpur Waldorf-Inspired School (NWIS) organized a Winter Carnival at the school located on Ring Road, Near Katol Road on 23rd December 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Students, parents of NWIS, and numerous visitors from the city enjoyed various stalls, trying their hands at pottery, Charkha, Takli, Grinding Stone, and a Pony ride, which proved to be star attractions. The little ones, along with their parents and relatives, relished the festivities.
Mrs. Nisha Saraf, CDS Group Director, and Mr. Sanket Saraf, Founding Director of NWIS, welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Vikash Khurana, who expressed his joy, stating that Waldorf education is essential in contemporary times. He congratulated the directors for introducing this concept at NWIS. The storytelling through puppetry and the Advent Spiral captured the attention of the Chief Guest, as well as the guests and visitors. Parents also set up stalls with delectable treats and artistic gift items.
Those visiting for the first time expressed a keen interest in learning more about the futuristic education system. The Waldorf games were enjoyed by both children and parents. The ambiance throughout the evening at NWIS was one of learning and mindfulness about how children need to grow. Mr. Sanket Saraf reiterated Rudolf Steiner’s quote, stating, “At Waldorf, we are trained to receive the child in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth into the world in freedom.” He added, “Age-appropriate cognitive development of the children makes them future-ready while preserving the joy of learning.”
Dr. Shanoor Mirza, Principal of NWIS, remarked, “The event was a resounding success and a signal for greater acceptance of the Waldorf way of education for children today.”
