Nagpur: Tragedy struck on Tuesday as a middle-aged woman, identified as Shabana Parveen Mohammad Azim (42), lost her life in a collision on the Koradi Police Station area flyover. Shabana, riding pillion on her husband’s scooter, was struck by a rashly driven Bajaj Maxima auto-rickshaw. The incident occurred while they were en route to Saoner direction on their Honda Activa (MH49/VH-3730).
The impact of the collision threw both Shabana and her husband off the scooter. Shabana sustained severe head injuries and was immediately rushed to Mayo Hospital. Despite efforts, she succumbed to her injuries around 11:40 am.
The auto-rickshaw driver, fearing arrest, fled the scene. The authorities have initiated a search operation to apprehend the perpetrator. In response to the tragic incident, the police have registered a case under Sections 279, 338, and 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act against the driver.”
