Nagpur: Crime Branch of city police arrested two-car borne drug peddlers including a woman and seized five kg of ganja (marijuana) from their possession. The Fiat car in which the two accused were travelling has also been impounded.
The Crime Branch sleuths, during a patrol on Tuesday night, received information that the two accused Abdul Lateef Abdul Razzak (40) of Mudliyar Layout, Shantinagar and Chanda Pradeep Thakur (50) of Shantinagar, near Pitale Hanuman Mandir, were travelling ina Fiat car and possessed a stock of wet ganja. Acting on the information, cops stopped the Fiat car (MH-49/U 0994) near Shaad Homoeopathy Research Centre in Shantinagar. Upon frisking, cops found over 5 kg of ganja worth Rs 50,000 hidden in the car. The heady stuff and the Fiat car collectively worth Rs 4.50 lakh were seized.
Both the accused were booked under Sections 20, 29 of NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, 1985 and placed under arrest.
