According to the police, the incident came to light when Chetna’s father entered the house and discovered his daughter lying unconscious on the bed. Realizing the severity of the situation, he rushed her to the nearest hospital. However, despite the efforts to save her, Chetna succumbed to the poison at approximately 11 pm. Within an hour of her mother’s hospitalisation, Harshika began complaining of severe stomach pain. She was immediately admitted to the hospital, but her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she also passed away during treatment.

A four-page suicide note was recovered by the police from the house, shedding some light on Chetna’s mental state. Preliminary investigations suggest that she was mentally disturbed due to some issues in the convent, but the police are carefully studying the contents of the suicide note to ascertain the exact cause behind her extreme step. The letter could provide vital insights into the factors that led to this heartbreaking incident, said Police Inspector Bhimaji Patil of Butibori police station.

Butibori Police have registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter thoroughly.
